To reduce weight without compromising strength, these bars are hollow. Each bar is precision CNC-bent from a single piece of bar stock, eliminating welds and significantly reducing the risk of failure compared to traditional manufacturing methods. The bar ends are forged into shape and then quench-hardened in specialized fixtures to achieve the highest strength profile possible, and then dimensionally confirmed in final check fixtures. Lastly, each sway bar is coated with a corrosion-resistant red powder coat, offering both durability and a sleek appearance.\nOn this particular model, we’ve increased the bar diameter to 28 mm, with a 4.5 mm wall thickness, an upgrade from the factory’s 24.1x3.9mm (MK7 GTI) and 24.3x4.1m (MK8 GTI) size. This enhancement results in a spring rate of 333\/383 lbs\/in delivering a 85%\/114% and 62%\/86% increase over the factory MK7\/MK8 GTI bars.
