Dave M - 12 Volt Category Manager / Hotrodder - JBs Power Centre Edmonton
"I'm very proud of this build and so grateful for the opportunity to build this car at JB's with the help of our great team. I have been the blood, sweat, and tears for 90% of this build, but Ian, Quinn, Lenny, Mike A, Mike S, and Mattias have been lending muscle, skill, guidance, and encouragement throughout this project. I can't thank them enough for the support.
This stage of the build has been a long time coming.
Short backstory — this '38 Dodge project started in 1975, when my dad, Brian McLean, insisted on rebuilding his recently deceased grandfather's cherished car, which he began turning into his hotrod dream. After the passing of my father, I made the same decision to continue this car's journey with our family.
Once the luxury car of a retired farmer, then built into the hotrod of a humble partsman, and now the "Dirty8" — a Patina Streetrod that we always dreamt of building together.
This car is a family heirloom and has a story to tell, some of which comes from random people who remember seeing it in the '70s and '80s and tell me all about the good ol' days at Speedway Park, trips down to the Streetrod Nationals, and many NHRA racing events all over the US."
