Melling timing chain guides, tensioners and dampers keep the chain properly loaded and on track, which reduces noise and wear throughout the timing drive. They are sold individually and as part of Melling timing sets, and every one is designed and built to meet or exceed OEM requirements for its application. Worn guides and weak tensioners are a common source of timing rattle, so they should be replaced along with the chain.
