Melling LS AFM Cylinder Deactivation Delete Kit with Tuner for GM 5.3L

Melling cylinder deactivation delete kits convert GM engines with Active Fuel Management (AFM) or Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) to a conventional valvetrain, eliminating the deactivation lifters that are a well-known source of lifter failure. Each kit packages the components that have to be changed together, including a delete camshaft, non-deactivation hydraulic roller lifters and the matching lifter guides, so there is no guessing about compatible parts. Kits with a tuner include the programming interface needed to recalibrate the engine computer for the conversion.

Melling lists this kit for GM 5.3L LS engines with engine codes LC9, LH6, LMG and LY5. Kit contents: camshaft (1), valve lifters (16), lifter guides (4), thrust plate (1), VVT oil control valve (1) and engine tuner (1).
