This course will teach students a safe, repeatable, process-based system for calibrating & tuning stock or mildly modified Cummins Turbo Diesel trucks.  Gain significant amounts of torque and horsepower while achieving a clean emissions profile.  

Our goal with this course is to teach you processes and methods for improving Torque and Horsepower, while having a clean emissions outcome (Emissions Equipment FULLY intact) so you can obtain reasonable basis (SEMA Certified) or CARB E.O. approval, should you choose to pursue those avenues.

Some of the sections included in this course:

• Torque Management:

  How to modify the Torque Management system to allow increased torque!

• Fueling Mass, Injection Timing, Fuel Pressure:

  Understanding how increased fueling matches with increased airflow, to make more clean power.

• Turbocharger VGT Controls:

  Updating the Turbocharger controls for better spool up and increased boost controls

• Airflow Limits:

  Learn how the Airflow limiting system reduces power and how to overcome these limits

• Engine Operating Modes:

  Understanding how the ECM operates using different EOM's, and how to tune properly using them

• VCM Scanner:

  Learn how to understand what to look for in the scanner.  Use our included Channels and Charts to get up and tuning quickly. 

• 6-Speed Transmission Tuning:

  Processes include:
  • Shift Schedule (When the upshifts and downshifts happen) as well as an easy to use Excel spreadsheet with the required conversions for easy tuning.
  • Understanding Torque Capacities of transmissions  
    
  • Recognizing factors of time and normal wear that relate to choosing a Torque Management amount that meets your desired outcome 
  • Shift firmness 
    
  • TCC (Torque Converter) Lock/Unlock
  • Understanding how a shift happens, and the process of the shift from initiation to completion
  • Analyzing shifts using the VCM Scanner to quantify how a shift "feels" when stock and also when tuned well to help you progress in your tuning.
